Hi everyone. This is the page to look at if you are interested in any of the posts that come up from time to time.
Right now, we have the following post(s) on offer:
At Starcross, we always value the work that volunteer helpers undertake with the children here at school. Whether parents, or members of the wider community, we welcome any additional help that we can get, and recognise the skills that voluteers have in helping to impact on the children’s education.
If you think that you can help us in any way, including supporting the children’s learning and play during lunch breaks, then please contact the school, where more information can be given. Obviously, all volunteer helpers will be given full CRB checks as part of our safeguarding procedures, but we would love you to come forward if you are interested in helping in any way. Parents and carers have up to now enjoyed helping in the following ways:
- Driving children to activities as part of our “Driver Bank.”
- Listening to readers during the school day
- Helping with tasks such as displays
- Helping supervise the children at lunch times
- Helping out on trips and excursions
Please remember that although we do not pay our volunteer helpers, we value and cherish the support that theybring to the school. So please contact the school if interested during normal school hours, where further details will be given.
Parent Driver Bank
From time to time, the school needs to ask parents and carers to help out with transporting children to and from events such as sports days etc at other venues. We need as many parents as possible to help us in this. We are, as you will be aware, very conscious of the need to safeguard children at all times, and as part of our approach to safeguarding, we would like to ask any parents interested in joining the bank of parent drivers to come into school and fill in the necessary CRB disclosure form. This is free of charge and will allow you to participate in the transport of children safely. The Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check is a legal requirement and as such we will not unfortunately be able to allow any parent to transport children to school events if these checks have not been made. Please contact Mrs. Drew in the school office if you are willing to help.
