As you know, all schools are subject to regular inspection by OFSTED (Office for Standards in Education), and last week, we were informed that we would receive our inspection on Tuesday, 25th April.
We were, indeed, put through our paces by a very thorough inspector, who looked at all of the following:
- The school’s performance data, both historical and in-year
- The learning in classes throughout the day
- The views of middle leaders
- The views of parents and children
- The quality of work in the children’s books
- The views of the governing body
- The specific lines of enquiry raised by all of the above
I am delighted to inform you that after this inspection, Starcross Primary School was judged to be a “Good” school once more. However, that said, we know that so much of what we do here is outstanding, and that is clearly evident in the way that the school provides for the children and their families in many areas.
We are delighted to once again receive this outcome, and you can follow the link below to the report, which was published today, and which will appear on the OFSTED website within 5 working days.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed with their views on PARENTVIEW, and also everyone who continues to support us in everything that we try to achieve. This really is a team effort, and although the leadership at all levels was deemed to be of a high standard, we could not have achieved this accolade without your help and support also.
I’m sure that you will join me in congratulating the governors, children and staff of the school for this clear indication of their hard work, commitment to the best outcomes and clear approach to what constitutes the best opportunities for the children.
