School Council – School Vote – School Charity
In recent weeks the School Council have been talking to their classes about nominating and supporting a charity for the school to raise money for over the next year.
The School Council members came up with a list of charities which they have further researched - teachers were also asked for their suggestions. The list had nine different charities; voting slips were designed and made by the council and a secret ballot was held where each person in every class was given a slip to choose one charity.
The School Council learnt a lot about the voting process and they passed this information on to their classes explaining that there was only one vote and, if more than one ‘X’ was marked on a voting slip it would be cancelled.
The School Council members brought their classes voting slips to a meeting where they were counted and re-counted to double check the results.
The results were then announced in a ‘Happy Assembly’ and we are pleased to say that our nominated school charity for this year will be ‘Cancer Research’.
We look forward as a school to raising money to support this very worthwhile cause over the next few months.
Thankyou to the School Council and thankyou everyone for voting and supporting.
